List of documents required for business purposes

  1. Application form (TM.7)
  2. Copy of applicant's passport
  3. Certificate of employment prepared in accordance with the form prescribed by the Immigration Bureau (Sor.Tor.Mor.1)
    - A table showing the numbers of all foreigners employed by the company, also their salary on monthly and annually basis, and their total salary, is additionally required.

  5. Proof of corporate registration e.g. certificate of incorporation of company or partnership certified by the Registrar with validity for 6 months
  6. Copy of list of shareholders certified by the Registrar with validity for 6 months

List of documents for extension of stay in case of Retirement

  1. Application Form ( TM 7) with one photograph (size 4x6 cm.)
  2. Passport and its photocopy with certified true copy by the alien
  3. Application fee: 1,900 Baht
  4. Documents required are as follows;
    • The account deposit with the bank in Thailand of not less than 800,000 Baht.
      The proof of such evidence is the updated bank passbook with the certified letter from the bank showing the money in the account of not less than 800,000 Baht which has been deposited in the account for the previous 3 months. OR
    • Income from pension/social welfare of not less than 65,000 Baht per month.
      The proof of such evidence is a letter from the applicant's Embassy or Consulate in Thailand to certify that the applicant receives pension or other income of not less than 65,000 Baht per month. OR
A combination of the account deposit in the bank plus income (from pension or other source per year with a combined total of not less than 800,000 Baht.

Application for further stay for non-Thai wife to receive the support from a husband who is a Thai citizen or a Thai permanent resident of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The husband who has Thai nationality

The husband who is a permanent resident in the Kingdom of Thailand

  9. Child must be under the age of 20 years or be a student. Evidence of education must be produced showing grade/level, number of years, etc. The child must live on the support of the parents or be disabled and unable to sustain himself/herself.
  10. The officer in charge reserves the right to request additional documents as needed.

    * Only one child can apply for extension of stay in order to support parents who are foreign residents of the Kingdom.

Application for further stay to take care of the child during the term of education

  1. Application form T.M.7 with one 4x6 cm. Photograph and 1900 Baht Visa Fee.
  2. Copy of passport ( Certified true copy )
  3. In case of parents staying with a child to take care of the child during the term of education ;
    In case of a parent previously granted permission in the Kingdom (before 17 January 2000 ) ,in which case only the mother will be permitted a visa, the following must be provided.
    • A bank statement withholding not less than 250,000 baht in a savings the account on the day of submission
    • A copy of bank account showing not less than 250,000 baht on the day of submission and on the day of appointment.

In case of first entry in the Kingdom and applying for an extension to take care of the child (After 17 January 2000 ). The father or mother who is allowed must have the following

    • A bank statement withholding not less than 800,000 baht in a saving account in the account on the day of submission
    • A copy of bank account showing not less than 800,000 baht on the day of submission and on the day of appointment.
    • A copy of money transfer from out side the Kingdom
    • Document verifying family members. (If translated, must be verified by the embassy, the consul or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

In case of studying

    •International trading business (Agency office) is a business that provide service in looking for product suppliers / manufactures or services in Thailand for the head office. This agent is responsible for inspecting and controlling quality and supplies of the products the head office wants to purchase or hire to the supplyer.The agency has to provide advice about the product and disseminate information about the new products or services of the head office to the public. In addition, the agent must inform and report to the head office the information about the business trends and movement in Thailand .

    **A Regional office is the office of an international company established in other countries other than the one in which the head office is registered. These offices are not required to register as a legal entity according to the law of such countries. The regional office will provide different kinds of service such as coordinating and supervising the operation of company's branches or subsidary located in the same region instead of the head office. In addition, the regional office will provide consultation and trainings as well as product development and research conduct. The income of the regional office comes from the services provided. The office has no authority to accept the orders, propose the sales it is located. The regional office receives the budget from the head office to pay for office operation expenses.

    ***A multinational company (branch office) is an individual or legal entity which is established in accordance with the laws of the foreign countries but operates its business in other countries.

Application for further stay to work in regional operation offices

  1. Immigration Form 7

  4. A certified document or letter indicating the position of the applicant and other foreign nationals who work in the officer, a reason of hiring the foreign nationals to work in this position

  6. A certified of company limited, Value Added Tax registration (Por Por 20), a list of shareholders, certificate of incorporate from Ministry of Commerce of a permit / license for the alien's
  7. Evidence presenting the latest income tax payment of Thai and foreign national employees (Por Ngor Dor 1). One must present the evidence of income tax payment for individual (Por Ngor Dor 91) of the previous year if applying next year.

    **A regional operation office is a company which is established according to Thai laws to provide administrative, technical, or support services to its subsidiaries in Thailand or other countries.

    • In case of illness
      1. A certified document or letter from the hospital indicating a doctor's diagnosis with the following details:
        • Cause of the illness.
        • Does the illness prohivit long traveling? How?
        • Does the applicant need medical treatment?
        • How long must the applicant stop travelling? Date: ______ to _____
    • In case of losing belongings / properties that are important for travel .
      1. A copy of police record dealing with the loss.
      2. A document to be substituted for passport, a certified document from the embassy indicating the entry and permission to stay in this country. (In case of passport loss)
    • In case of being accuser, victim, alleged offender, defendant, or witness.
      1. A certified document or letter from the court or prosecutor or
      2. A certified document or letter from the head of the police office that has authority to investigate.
    • In case of having biological relationship with a Thai citizen .
      1. Evidence showing the status of being a child of a Thai citizen or previously a Thai citizen.
      2. A request for further stay to:

•  Be supported by parents or relatives who are Thai citizens.

•  Visit relatives or

•  Return and remain in Thailand .

Application for extension of tourist visa

  1. TM. 7 (application must be made in person)

  2. Documents required for special cases:
    Illness:
    • Hospital certificate stating the doctor's examination with the followimg details:
      • Kind of illness,
      • Whether/How the illness prohibits traveling.
  3. Visa Stamp
  • Foreigners applying for the first time for an extension of stay are given a 30 day extension from the date of expiry of the original admission, except for citizens of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Togo, and Uganda, whose application for extension of stay will not be approved and the applicants are ordered to leave the kingdom within seven days.
  • If a foreigner wishes to apply for a second extension after being admitted to the Kingdom for 90 days,
    • the applicant is asked to report to the immigration office again in 15-30 days from the date of application, according to case if he produces evidence of necessity of extension,
    • the applicant is asked to report to the immigration office again in 15 days from the date of application if the applicant does not produce evidence or documentation. During the period of consideration the applicant is allowed to remain in the Kingdom.

Application for extension of stay of holders of different visa types

  1. General case
    1. Application form TM. 7 (Tor Mor 7)

    3. Passport copy of relevant pages, viz.
      • page with name, surname and picture
      • page with issue and expiry dates of passport
      • page with visa and arrival stamp
      • Arrival/departure card (TM. 6)
    4. Passport picture 4x6 cm (not more than 6 months old)
    5. Application fee 1,900.- Baht
  2. In case of necessity of extension of stay,
    the application is examined by the officer in charge and the applicant is requested to report back to the immigration office in 14 days for the result of the consideration.
    1. The above listed documents must be produced,together with supporting evidence showing the necessity to extend the stay according to the individual case.
  3. Foreigners overstaying the admission period as stated in the passport
    1. Must report with their passport to the immigration officer in room 205, 2nd floor, building 1 of the Immigration Bureau head office on Soi Suanphlu in Bangkok in order to pay the applicable fine of 500.- Baht per day for overstaying,
    2. And make their application for extension at counter 5 (ground floor, building 1) together with the above mentioned documents and the receipt of the fine paid. The application will be processed by the immigration officer in charge as usual.

Application for extension of stay of persons investing a minimum of 3 million Baht in the Kingdom

  1. Evidence of transfer of at least 3 million Baht from abroad into Thailand . The applicant must be either the sender abroad or the recipient in Thailand of the investment.
  2. Evidence of investing the transferred money after the transfer is completed in one or several of the following cases:
    • Deposit the money in a fixed account of a state bank (Krung Thai Bank, Government Savings Bank, Bank for Agriculture and Cooperative, Ratanasin Bank, Srinakhorn Bank, Nakhornluang Thai Bank, Housing Bank)
    • Buy bonds issued by a state agency or government enterprise. The bonds must be purchased directly from a state agency or government enterprise or an authorised dealer.
    • Buy an apartment or condominium at the price set and registered by the Land Department.
    • Any kind of investment deemed beneficial to the country by the Immigration Bureau.

Conditions for permission

The foreign national must permanently possess the investment. If he wishes to change the kind of investment, he first has to ask for permission to change the kind of investment and may then change to a new permanent kind of investment.
